What Our Runners Have Said..

Thank you so much to everyone involved in organising today. It was a delight to see the walkers and the ultra’s get the same support and encouragement! It was a fantastic event, one of my favourites and that is all down to the friendliness and kindness of others …. The haribo might have helped too.

Trinette Shepherd

Thank you so much for today! Probably the most friendliest event I’ve been to and so much support not only from the organisers but all the runners too! It was nice to be in a non-competitive environment….. it was just about you and your goals with no pressure but with endless lots of support and friendliness… I will be signing up for future events!

Laura Wren

Achieved my furthest miles today. Thank you for organising such a lovely friendly event with a great snack station!

Belinda Moore

I would like to thank you and your team for an incredible event today. It was a well organised, fantastic low key event. I would recommend it to anyone.

Keith Diaper

Fantastic event, very well structured, extremely friendly and supportive. And more importantly amazing bling!!!  Cant wait for the next one!

Samantha Cobb

Thank you soo much for an AMAZING event today… It was very well organised and everyone was so friendly and my son loved giving high fives to passing runners. I had never run a half marathon distance even without the buggy but somehow today I managed to do 14.6 miles with the buggy and the heavy toddler!!

On The Whistle

Whistlers, we know those of you that attended our Insomniacs event both this year and last had a great time, however it never really took off the way we hoped it would.
For 2019 we took on-board some feedback and had made arrangements to relocate to a different venue where we could enable an out and back course meaning you would pass fellow runners frequently even with a smaller number of entrants, we also had plans for those who may not want to stay for the whole 12 hours but still wanted to run through the night. We were quite excited about these changes and improving the run for you all.
Unfortunately another event has recently been scheduled the same weekend and the organisers have a much bigger following than us. We simply can’t compete and so have made the difficult decision to pull this event from our line up.
Apologies to those of you who were planning on joining us.

NB this event was not included in our season ticket offer.

On The Whistle

A wrap up from the event yesterday. The results have been done and will be published shortly. Apologies once again for the delay in processing them. Windows -- enough said.
So a wrap up on the day itself:
As we have already said that as a team we still can't do these events with out our awesome helpers, so a bring thank you to Paula, Dan, Alan and Alex for their help yesterday.
But there would be no point in putting these events on with out you lovely people, the runners.
68 of you came and ran yesterday covering a huge 1250.2 miles between you, that about 18.4 miles each. Each loop had approximately 400 ft of climb, and a whopping 329 loops were completed which equates to 131,600ft of climb this is roughly 4.5 times up Everest.
2 runners Tony Conway and Steve McLean not satisfied of running with us, also decided to throw in the Butser Challenge into the day as well. About 1500ft of climb over 4.5 miles. Tony did manage to come back and complete a marathon with us as well -- I'll let you decide whether he is awesome or mad.
Dedicated father and son duo made the journey from Chepstow, and stayed over in Petersfield, dad Dickie completing an Ultra and Josh (17) finishing his 2nd half marathon and the maximum that he was allowed to run.
A split of 35/33 in runners female to male. Well done ladies.
Furthest run was 34.2 miles -- 9 laps - well done Jason.
26 people ran marathon or further (38%)
1 person managed to stop on 6 laps without me noticing. Must try harder.
25 people ran half marathon distance or further, (37%)
With 17 people completing between 1 and 3 laps.
3 of those due to a nasty fall by one runner. We wish him well.
Lucy Kemp managed her first marathon, as a training run and a confidence booster for tackling Abingdon in a few weeks. We wish her well on that.
And the awesomeness that is Christine Gorham completed her first Ultra
Any other firsts or noticeable that we have missed - let us know.
